Along with wife Helen has owned and operated Forgey’s River-View Farm since 1968.

In 2005 Scott & Darla Foerg, long time employees, became 50/50 partners in the operations of the 200 cow seasonal pasture based dairy.

Awards & Honors

2005 Distinguished Producer Award from the Indiana Forage Council with the award to be continued annually to other producers as the Dave & Helen Forgey Award.
2002 Master Farmer Award from The Indiana Prairie Farmer,
2002 Master Grazier Award from the Great Lakes Grazing Conference.

Writer

Dave has provided dozens of articles on Grazing and farm transition to the next generation in magazines such as “Hoard’s Dairyman, “Graze” and “The Stockman Grass Farmer”

Family

Dave & Helen were married in 1966 and have a son Brad, his wife Susan and children Lukas and Elaine. As well as a daughter Kim and her husband John and sons Daniel and Douglas.

 Church

Dave & Helen are both Elders in the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Logansport Indiana.
