What you missed!

The 5NCGL was an unique, producer-based, national conference that brought together over 450 ranchers, farmers, land managers, grazing specialists & conservationists to learn more about technology advancements, and how to increase the sustainability of the Nation's grazing lands. The event focused on grazing lands and the conservation benefit they can offer to America's livestock producers, watersheds and wildlife.

Oklahoma's U.S. Representative Frank Lucas (R) presented remarks during the opening session. In addition, Dr. Temple Grandin, renowned animal scientist shared strategies for improving animal welfare. Other noted presenters included: Kit Pharo shared his philosophy on moving from a production mentality to one of profit for beef production; animal behaviorist, Fred Provenza, who imparted his thoughts on nutritional wisdom amoung livestock and humans; and Dr. Don Ball and Dr. Garry Lacefield.

Many attendees thought that the opportunity to listen and learn from real-life producers who are successful stewards of the land was the true "magic" of the event.

As Special Thanks to all of those who made the 5th National Conference
on Grazing Lands a success!

Hosted by the Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative (GLCI), the conference objective is “To Heighten Awareness of the Economic and Environmental Benefits of Grazing Lands.” It is a one-of-a-kind, producer-based conference which brings together ranchers, farmers, land managers, grazing specialists and conservationists from across the nation for education, technology advancements and grazing land sustainability. Over 50% of our speakers are successful producers who are there to recount their success stories in hopes it will help others increase their own sustainability and conservation practices.

The 5NCGL is also bringing together renowned speakers to the program: Dr. Temple Grandin, Dr. Fred Provenza, Kit Pharo, Dr. Don Ball and Dr. Garry Lacefield. Dr. Temple Grandin will be doing a special opening session on Monday, December 10th, followed by a book signing.
